Title Monitoring exposure of brewery workers to CO2: A study of cellar workers and controls.
Bibliographic information Mar.-Apr. 1979, Vol.34, No.2, p.92-96. 3 ref.
Abstract Carbon dioxide exposure was assessed by blood monitoring before work on Monday and after work on Monday and Friday in 19 cellar workers and 20 controls. The differences found were not statistically significant. Breathing zone air of 3 cellar workers was monitored for a week, yielding a time-weighted average of 1.08% CO2. In view of the risk of acute lethal exposure, emphasis should be placed on warning devices for acutely hazardous levels above 20% rather than on a time-weighted average in the 1% range.
