Title Ascorbic acid in the prevention of chromium dermatitis.
Bibliographic information Jan. 1980, Vol.22, No.1, p.51-52. 9 ref.
Abstract A worker with strong Cr sensitivity handling freshly printed paper with inks containing Cr suffered severe hand dermatitis. A solution of 10% ascorbic acid applied to his hands during the work day reduced the active hexavalent Cr to the inactive trivalent form. This inexpensive, easy-to-use method resulted in speedy recovery of the dermatitis.
