Original title Rötskadebesiktning av ledningsstolpar [in Swedish]
Bibliographic information Liber Förlag, 162 89 Vällingby, Sweden, 20 June 1979. 11p.
Abstract These directives (effective 1 Jan. 1980) concern wooden poles which have to be climbed by linesmen for various jobs. Inspection is aimed at preventing accidents due to reduced stability of poles. The first inspection should be carried out 20 years after erection of the line, and then every 8 years. Cases of rotting and degree of its advancement are to be noted in a log book. Instructions for marking dangerous poles (which should be replaced or strengthened), information for personnel required to work on deteriorated poles, and precautions to be taken before climbing any pole, whether marked or not. Commentaries on the substance of the directive, on hidden damage, on the liability of the owner of the installation.
