Title Central-nervous-system defects in children born to mothers exposed to organic solvents during pregnancy.

Abstract Exposure to noxious influences during pregnancy was analysed in mothers of children with congenital central-nervous-system defects and matched-pair controls. The number of mothers exposed to organic solvents during the first trimester of pregnancy was statistically significant. The commonest defect was anencephaly.
