| Abstract |
Measures and installations are described for collecting gas emissions from the ovens during discharging (covering the oven battery and exhaust of polluted air, enclosure of discharging operation, with exhaust and cleaning of polluted air) and wet quenching (reduced speed of vapour emissions, advantages of plate separators). A section is devoted to sampling of dust emitted during discharging and its chemical and particle-size analysis, and to the quality of the water used for quenching. The quantity and harmfulness of the gas emissions correlated with the "maturity" of the coke and the purity of the quenching water. |
