| Abstract |
This document is a summary of 7 reports in the METELI project (CIS 78-2021). The study consisted of dust, noise, lighting, thermal conditions, chemicals contacted, and air pollutants measured in the workplaces of 4750 manual and office workers, and the questionnaire concerned the degree of discomfort. Four discomfort indexes were computed from (1) the first three factors, (2) thermal conditions, (3) discomfort due to contact with chemicals and (4) pollutants in the breathing zone. Many of the conditions measured were enough to produce discomfort. The employees ratings of discomfort complemented and confirmed the objective measurements. |
