| Abstract |
These conclusions, adopted by the ILO Metal Trades Committee at its 10th Session (Geneva, 20-28 Apr. 1977) concern: hazards; research; prevention action; legislation; consultation between governments and employers' and workers' organisations; information for management, supervisors and workers; ratification of the ILO Guarding of Machinery Convention 1963 (No.119) and Recommendation No.118; chemical hazards; worker information; identification, transport, handling and use of harmful substances; the ILO-sponsored international warning system for rapid dissemination of information on occupational hazards; the ILO International Programme for the Improvement of Working Conditions and the Working Environment (PIACT); statistics; safety and health training; protection of workers against harmful dusts, fumes, gases, fibres, vapours, heat, humidity, noise, vibration, radiation, carcinogens; psychological tension and psychosomatic disorders; plant safety and health services; joint or tripartite consultations; international action. |
