Abstract |
Research on the decomposition of pesticides in water used for washing cucumber leaves and horticultural workers' hands. Residual amounts of actellic, unden (arprocarb) and endodan were determined by thin-layer chromatography, and of zineb by colorimetry. Reproduction of the results, which show that actellic, endodan and zineb undergo rapid decomposition in greenhouses, whereas unden is more stable (diminution by only 16.7%, as measured on leaves 4 days after treatment). The authors recommend that a period of 4 days should be allowed to elapse before re-entering greenhouses, and that unden should not be used in greenhouses. |
