Original title Les dermatoses dans la métallurgie (A propos de 14 cas dans une entreprise). [in French]

Abstract MD thesis. The author reviews various types of dermatosis found in the metalworking industry (20% of reported cases in France), describes some processes involving the use of cutting fluids, and reports on 14 case studies observed in a plant manufacturing motorcar gear boxes and rear axle drives. Analysis of these cases highlights the problems encountered by plant physicians in arriving at a diagnosis and establishing the occupational nature of these skin disorders. The principal preventive measures are: automation; elimination of hazards from cutting fluids (composition, fluid supply and replenishment); workplace hygiene.
