Abstract Part I (included under CIS 76-1482) shows how the statistics for mortality studies are already available from data collected for other purposes, and presents information on a sample of social security recipients. Among the industrial populations tabulated, young workers showed significantly elevated standard mortality ratios in a few cases. In Part II, these industries are examined to find the groups in which the mortality of young workers is high. This was the case in agricultural production, metal mining, real estate, military and reserves, miscellaneous business services, and eating and drinking establishments.
