Abstract This Recommendation, adopted on 11 Nov. 1976, concerns all sea-going ships, publicly or privately owned, engaged in the transport of cargo or passengers, and sea-going tugs. It is recommended that Member States of the ILO should take steps, by stages if necessary, to ensure that national laws or regulations and collective agreements contain provisions at least equivalent to the instruments referred to in the appendix to the Recommendation: inter alia, the Food and Catering (Ship's Crews) Convention, 1946 (No.68); Accommodation of Crews (Supplementary Provisions) Convention, 1970 (No.133); Prevention of Accidents (Seafarers) Convention, 1970 (No.134); IMCO/ILO Document for Guidance, 1975, etc.
