Title Teratogenic potential of noise in mice and rats.
Bibliographic information May 1976, Vol.36, No.2, p.239-245. 17 ref.
Abstract The effects of a quiet environment and a noisy environment on the developing embryo were studied in mice and rats. It was found that neither foetal weight nor the incidence of malformations was significantly affected by exposure to a 100dB white noise during gestation. White noise had some maternal and embryotoxic effects in mice and little effect in rats, but it was not teratogenic in either species.
