||Communication to the Regional Technical Committee for Transports and Goods Handling (Comité technique régional des transports et de la manutention), Lille, France. Contents: review of accident statistics; tanks (construction, positioning and fixing, etc. of access ladders); prevention of accidents when working or moving on top of tank (non-slip-surface walkways, toeboards); trucks and trailers (egress from driver's cab and descent from truck frame; access; securing and removal of tarpaulins, lowering and securing of tail- and side-boards, etc.); trucks and trailers for vehicle transport. The all-too frequent inadequacy of the equipment for access and for working on the top and sides of these vehicles, referred to in this communication, constitutes a hazard factor which makes bad working conditions even worse.
