Title Hepatitis B virus infection in dentists.
Bibliographic information 9 Oct. 1975, Vol.293, No.15, p.729-734. 28 ref.
Abstract Of 1,245 dentists, 0.9% were positive for hepatitis B surface antigen, and 12.7% were antibody positive. The frequency of evidence for infection increased with increasing years of professional experience. Dentists appear to have a risk of hepatitis B virus infection about 2-3 times that of the general population. Frequencies did not vary with geographic region in the USA, nor with size of community.
