Abstract This computerised alphabetical catalogue of 7,869 dangerous materials is intended for those engaged in their importation and exportation via Israeli ports. The chief information provided on each substance is: classification by the Israel Ports Authority (Class A: substances which must be delivered directly; Class B: those which must be stored separately, with special provisions for the port of Eilat); Inter-governmental Maritime Consultative Organization (IMCO) classification; subclass (auxiliary classification of materials with several hazardous properties); page number of entry in the IMCO International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code; U.N. No. (number allocated by the United Nations Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods). Explanatory notes are provided in English and Hebrew.
