Abstract |
The vital capacity (VC) and one-second forced expiratory volume (FEV1), corrected for temperature, were measured in 482 men. Both showed a linear relationship with height and age. The findings are reproduced in graphic form for ready reference by practitioners. Neither weight nor smoking habit affected the relationship of VC or FEV1 with age and height. The findings were substantially the same as those obtained in earlier studies of European males. |
