Abstract |
This book concerns mainly the psychological stresses of work and the interplay these have with the more traditional aspects of the occupational environment. It is intended to help professionals and laymen to apply the benefits of current knowledge in the occupational health field, which is fully dealt with in other handbooks. The natural history of accidents and the nature of occupational disorders are discussed. Chapters are devoted to alcoholism and industry, rehabilitation, redundance and retirement, health screening and occupational health services. The subjects are not treated in depth but suggestions for further reading are given and relevant sources of information indicated. |
