| Abstract |
These recommendations, adopted on 20 June 1973, concern single or coupled machines. The ways and means of preventing accidents due to mechanical hazards (crushing, shearing, cutting, etc.) and the hazards of falls, toxicity and fire are described. Controls and warning devices which should be provided are specified and the difficulties of improving old equipment are stressed. Sample safety rules, a list of maximum permissible concentrations of vapours from the principle solvents used, and the text of the joint agreement of 14 June 1965 on the conditions of work of young persons in offset press shops are appended. |
