Abstract French translation of: Nytt system for knekkepresser. Vern og velferd, Oslo, Norway, 1970, Vol.20, No.3, p.38-39. Illus. Brief description with diagrams of a new folding method developed in Norway to eliminate certain risks encountered during sheet-metal folding. In this folding system, the press arrangement, which incorporates a rotating lower die which turns to fit the descending upper die, is so designed that the front edge of the sheet being folded is no longer forced sharply upwards with the risk of injury to operators, but remains practically stationary. The usual guarding of presses of this kind is not affected by this system which offers a time savings of up to 50% over the conventional folding method.
