Abstract This revised edition covers some 1,200 chemical compounds. The following data are set out for each compound in chart form under the headings: name and chemical formula; waste disposal procedure (according to an appended classification); threshold limit values; numerical identification of fire, health and reactivity hazards (according to the National Fire Protection Association classification); specific gravity, vapour density, flash point, ignition temperature, flammability or explosivity limits in air, boiling point, melting point, solubility in water, other solvents; bibliographical references. The disposal procedure charts indicate for each chemical group: protective equipment to be worn, treatment of spills, packaging instructions and examples of the substances in the group. Similar information is given for recovery procedures.
