Title The accuracy and precision of the Kusnetz method for the determination of the working level in uranium mines
Bibliographic information July 1972, Vol.23, No.1, p.106-109. 2 ref.
Abstract A re-assessment of the method which is in general use in the USA to determine the working level in underground uranium mines, following the establishment of a new, lower standard for the annual accumulated dose due to airborne radon daughters. In the majority of cases, the Kusnetz method (which is described in the paper) will under-estimate the actual working level of "young" air in a uranium mine atmosphere (i.e., of a mixture of air, radon and radon daughters where the radon daughters RaA, RaB and RaC have had little time - compared to their half lives - to grow to their equilibrium values).
