| Abstract |
A detailed review of cast-in-situ bolts designed to prevent the sidewalls of excavations moving under ground pressure. A review is given of the types of earth bolts, and detailed information is provided on fundamental data for calculations and the applicable standard requirements. Drilling of the bore hole, mortar injection, earth-bolt pre-stressing, and field of application are considered. Finally, the author deals with occupational safety in earth-bolt installation and in the construction of earth-retaining walls. |
