Abstract This report outlines the quantitative and qualitative research conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the Health and Safety Executive's Falls From Vehicles communications campaign that ran in September and October 2007. The main findings include: size of the heavy goods vehicle fleet; general attitudes towards safety; exposure to the campaign; advertising awareness and influence; recognition of the campaign and attitudes towards it; awareness and usage of organizations offering safety and health information; awareness of the risks of falls from vehicles; attitudes towards falling from vehicles as a safety issue; impact on attitudes and behaviour; action taken; reactions to website.
