Abstract Presently, monocyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are selectively detected in workplace atmospheres mostly by conventional methods, namely specifically, sampling on a medium and conducting a posteriori analysis in the laboratory. This article presents the concept of a new real-time analyzer, based on laboratory research and validated by INRS. Work is underway to design a prototype in the next few years.
