Abstract This guide updates previous guidance and extends its coverage to include activities involving all raw materials for which radiation protection measures need to be considered, as well as additional guidance on authorization of mining and processing activities, inspection and compliance. Its main purpose is to provide practical guidance on meeting the requirements of the basic safety standards as they relate to the radiation protection of workers in the mining and processing of raw materials, and thus to facilitate the preparation and adoption, by Member States, of national and local regulations rules and work procedures in this area of industrial activity.
