Abstract This code of practice on the prevention and control of legionnaires' disease has been developed through a tripartite consultative process involving employers, unions and the State Government of Western Australia. It describes the legionnaires' disease, its symptoms, risk factors, notification and sources of infection (potting mix, soils, mulch, air handling systems, hot and cold water distribution systems and other equipment). It explains how to ensure prevention through water treatment, disinfection and equipment maintenance. Appendices include relevant legislation and a glossary. Replaces CIS 99-1354.
