Abstract Occupational skin diseases caused by crop protection products consist primarily of irritation contact dermatitis, which may be sometimes severe, and more rarely of allergic contact dermatitis. By far the most exposed occupations are farm workers using crop protection products or working on treated crops. Many pesticides approved in France are toxic to the skin. Diagnosis is based on anamnesis, clinical examinations and skin tests with products used at work in cases of suspected allergy.
