Title Occupational exposure to pesticides and lymphoid neoplasms among men: Results of a French case-control study
Bibliographic information May 2009, Vol.66, No.5, p.291-298. 44 ref.
Abstract To investigate the relationship between occupational exposure to pesticides and the risk of lymphoid neoplasms (LNs) in men, a case-control study was conducted in six French hospitals between 2000 and 2004. The 491 cases were incident cases with a diagnosis of LN, while 456 controls of the same age and sex as the cases were recruited in the orthopaedic and rheumatology departments of the same hospitals. Exposures to pesticides were evaluated through questionnaires and specific interviews reviewed by experts. Odds ratios (ORs) were calculated using unconditional logistic regressions. Strong positive associations between HL and occupational exposures were found for triazole fungicides and urea herbicides (OR 8.4 and 10.8, respectively). Other findings are discussed.
