Abstract Venomous snakes exist in many regions of the world. Each year, approximately 2.5 million humans get bitten by snakes and 100,000 die. In most countries, records of snake bite accidents are incomplete. In case of poisoning, symptoms may vary and are by no means predictable. Therapeutic options are limited.
