Abstract When introducing change in the workplace, it is essential to focus on the motivation and engagement of workers, and not just on systems and processes. This article describes three models that occupational safety and health managers can use to gain commitment of staff: the management of complex change model, the DREC (denial, resistance, exploration and commitment) model, and force field analysis.
