Abstract The major causes of injuries and fatalities involving aerial lifts are falls, electrocutions, collapses and overturning. Aerial devices include boom-supported aerial platforms, such as cherry pickers or bucket trucks, aerial ladders and vertical towers. This information sheet summarises the measures to be implemented when working with aerial lifts, which include worker information and training, following manufacturers' instructions, taking precautions near power lines and adopting protective measures against the risks of crushing and falls.
