Bibliographic information Dec. 2007, Vol.49, No.12, p.1386-1393. 31 ref.
Abstract The main objective of this study was to investigate potential association between the incidence of soft-tissue sarcoma (STS) and occupational exposures related to agriculture in Canada. A population-based case-control study of STS was conducted among Canadian men stratified by province of residence and age group. Data were subjected to multivariate statistical evaluation. The following occupations or sectors of activity were positively associated with the incidence of STS: machinist, chicken farming, pulp and paper industry and apartment complex worker. Mixed farming and exposure to chlorine were negatively associated with STS. Other findings are discussed.
