Abstract French labour law on the ventilation and purification of work premises requires that employers to keep, and maintain current, records on the installation of each item of the ventilation system. One of the objectives of these regulations is to ensure that employers are familiar with the ventilation equipment from the time of its design, through the regular maintenance and inspection activities. Preparing the various parts of the installation records can sometimes be complex, which is why this guide has set out to transpose the legal requirements into practical terms. A true example of the compilation of an installation record is presented. The records are to be made available on demand to labour inspectors, to the competent social security agencies and to members of the hygiene, safety and working conditions committee of the enterprise.
