Abstract Knee arthritis is more prevalent among older workers than young workers. However, working in certain sectors such as the construction industry involves a high risk of knee arthritis due to the repeated demands placed on this joint. This article reviews the precautions to be taken to prevent this disease or to delay its incidence (adopting appropriate work postures, wearing knee guards, practicing muscle-building exercises), as well as to reduce pain (injections, cold therapy, surgery, prostheses).
