Abstract This report presents 19 practical examples of how enterprises and organizations from across the European Union have taken a variety of actions to reduce the exposure of workers to noise. The cases should inspire owners, managers and workers about what could be achieved within their enterprise. Some enterprises developed their own solutions using in-house expertise. Others found it useful and cost effective to use consultants with expert knowledge and practical experience in preventing exposure to noise. The majority included the involvement of employees and their representatives to identify problems and develop solutions; this is crucial to success, as workers have firsthand experience of their work environment.
