Abstract This report assesses policies and practices relating to HIV/AIDS in the transport sector of Southern African countries, focusing on the harmonization of border-crossing procedures to prevent long waiting periods. Common risk factors are identified and recommendations are presented for the implementation of policies and activities to help prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in the sector.
