Abstract This report provides an overview of the role of technical cooperation in achieving the objectives of the ILO's Global Programme on HIV/AIDS and the World of Work (ILO/AIDS). Key areas of technical cooperation are outlined, based on the ILO Code of Practice on HIV/AIDS and the world of work (see CIS 03-444). The implementation and achievements of selected projects in a range of countries and sectors are described to illustrate the different approaches used. Lessons learned from these projects are summarized and priority areas for future work are identified. ILO collaboration with intergovernmental organizations is also discussed.
