Abstract In two thirds of the compensation systems surveyed, commuting accidents are included in the scope of workers' compensation insurance. It discusses the differences between national and private coverage schemes and examines alternative means of financing the cost of commuting accidents, including by statutory health and pension insurance, motor liability insurance or private personal accident insurance.
