Abstract This profile has been prepared in accordance with guidelines set by the US Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry and the EPA. The key literature related to the toxic effects chlorine dioxide is identified and reviewed. Health hazards include: eye, nose and respiratory tract irritation. Animal studies show developmental effects, however at high concentrations unlikely to be encountered by humans.
