Abstract Bullying is a recent phenomenon which, besides its impact on work, also has clinical and legal consequences. It is considered a risk factor, although it differs from other risk factors in that it consists of a conscious and deliberate intent to harm another person, and should therefore be taken into account in the evaluation of working conditions likely to impact health. This article outlines the approach that should be followed by the person responsible for conducting an evaluation of psychosocial hazards when faced with evidence of bullying, together with the preventive measures to be implemented within the enterprise.
