Abstract Asthma is the most frequent respiratory disease that occurs during work. Among men, the main causal agents are flour and isocyanates while among women, they are alkaline persulfates (used in hairdressing products) and latex. It is important to ensure proper screening and prevention against potentially severe asthma that may pose a problem regarding the continued employment of workers in their current jobs.
