Abstract The demand-control-support model consists of a psychosocial risk model developed by R. Karasek et al. to describe and analyse work situations that give rise to chronic stress. This information note discusses the effects of occupational stress on health (musculoskeletal disorders, minor psychic disorders), psychosocial evaluation instruments (Karasek's job content questionnaire and other questionnaires or checklists that derive from it) and preventive interventions with respect to the three dimensions of the model. Karasek's psychosocial risk model is discussed in note NTP 603-2001 (CIS 04-749).
