Abstract The reactive airways dysfunction syndrome (RADS) is characterized by the incidence of persistent asthma among subjects previously without symptoms, following an exposure to respiratory irritants lasting several minutes to several hours. Respiratory disorders persist for at least three months, but generally last several years.
