Abstract The purpose of this booklet is to create awareness among health care workers of the adverse health effects of antineoplastic agents, to explain how one can be exposed to these agents, and to propose control methods and work practices to prevent or reduce exposure to these agents. Contents: health effects caused by antineoplastic agents; persons at risk of exposure to antineoplastic agents; when workers are at greatest risk of exposure; how to protect oneself from exposure; safety tips; case reports.
