Abstract The purpose of this report was to obtain examples of good safety and health practice from across Europe and make them available to interested parties. It describes 16 very different cases of good practice in the construction sector. Some of the case studies are project specific or risk specific. Others describe systems that can be used to improve the management of safety and health throughout the industry. All demonstrate what can be achieved with key players taking appropriate action. The 16 cases have been grouped together in three categories: the design stage, the construction phase and the maintenance phase.
