Abstract Contents of this update of the guidelines of the German Mutual Occupational Accident Insurance Association of July 1998 concerning the use of fire fighting equipment based on oxygen-displacing gases: scope; definitions; general requirements; requirements applicable to buildings and equipment (alarm systems, latency time before operation, stop devices, blocking devices, earthing, escape ways, automatically-closing doors, danger warning signs); how the equipment works; re-entering the premises after use of the system.
