Abstract The evaluation of occupational hazards is a key step in occupational safety and health. Published jointly by the occupational safety and health divisions of several French social security agencies, this booklet presents accepted principles and the approach aimed at assisting enterprises in carrying out these evaluations. Contents: definition of occupational hazards; the five principles to be followed; main steps (preparation of the hazard evaluation, hazard identification, hazard classification according to probability criteria, proposed preventive actions).
