Abstract The aim of this guide is to help understand and use the information contained in product information sheets (material safety data sheets) according to the information system on dangerous substances used at work (SIMDUT). The Canadian product information sheet is required to present nine categories of information: information on the product; information on the preparation of the product information sheet; dangerous incidents; physical properties; fire and explosion hazards; reactivity; toxicological properties; preventive measures; first aid. The guide provides an explanation of each of these aspects.
