Abstract This study presents the results of the evaluation of four types of vibration protection gloves in three laboratories, using the methodology described in the international standard ISO 10819:1996. Important differences between the laboratories were highlighted, particularly with certain types of gloves when subjected to an excitation spectrum in the range of frequencies from 200 to 1000Hz. An alternative method for evaluating glove transmission factors based on the evaluation of vibration response curves was also developed and validated. Use of the new method would considerably simplify the measurements necessary for evaluating gloves.
