Abstract The purpose of this booklet on ergonomics at work is to attempt to reduce occupational accidents and diseases, and to improve productivity by adapting the task to the worker. Contents: definition of ergonomics; how ergonomics can improve occupational safety and health; workplace problems that can be solved by ergonomics (work at screens, manual handling, stress, work time schedules); identifying ergonomic problems; what to do when ergonomic problems are identified; case studies of ergonomic improvements (engine assembler, receptionist working at a screen).
